Carina Räihä became the first Finnish woman to summit Mount Everest!

CONGRATULATIONS, Carina on your great achievement! The main sponsor wants to thank you for making Tango Expedition 2010 a success. From here on, it is good to continue the product development cooperation and prepare for launching Tango.

We have sat down to discuss about what we have learned from climbing in extreme conditions and we have put to use all the acquired knowledge to support the product development and marketing. Carina, once again, thank you for the valuable cooperation during Tango Expedition!

Mountaineer Carina Räihä has made Finnish climbing history by summiting Mount Everest on 17 May 2010 early in the morning, Finnish time. She is the first Finnish woman who has succeeded in reaching the top of the world's highest mountain.

Carina Räihä's journey to the top of Mount Everest, i.e. Tango Expedition 2010, began in April. During the journey her will and skills were tested by the extreme conditions but she pulled through the challenge and came out on top.

"The feeling is incredible. Everyone has dreams they wish to realize and this was one of mine. I am sure it will take a while for this experience to sink in", says Carina Räihä on a satellite phone right after reaching the top of Mount Everest.

Change in life led to Everest

Carina Räihä from Espoo, Southern Finland, made a complete change in life in 2009 by leaving behind her successful career in banking. As a result of the change in life, it finally seemed possible to realize a dream of many years, summiting Mount Everest. Räihä seized the challenge and made her dream come true.

On 26 March 2010, Tango as Carina's main sponsor saw her off at Helsinki Airport and gave Carina some last minute advice for her journey, the culmination of our mutual project.

Throughout the journey Tango supported Carina Räihä, the first Finnish woman who reached the top of Mount Everest! Tango took part in the project not only in its preparations but during the expedition, as well. The cooperation with Carina Räihä still continues. The preparations together with Tango and Carina began already in the summer of 2009.

What do Tango and climbing have in common?

Both the preparations of the Mount Everest expedition and the development of the new Tango product take a long period of time as well as uncompromising attitude and great expertise in their fields. The product development of Tango is based on profound know-how, innovations and a user-friendly design. Carina represents all the same required characteristics: uncompromising attitude, persistence and expertise. She too, is a strong newcomer in her field.

To guarantee the quality of the product, in January 2010 in Aconcagua, Tango collected valuable information about the wireless applications of the device. In the spring, Tango measured vital bodily functions in extreme conditions on Mount Everest.
Only a handful of Finns have ever ascended Mount Everest and as far as is known, not a single Finnish woman before Carina Räihä has ever even tried to climb the highest mountain in the world. In fact, only few women worldwide have reached the summit of Mount Everest.

Carina Räihä became the first Finnish woman who, as a part of an international expedition, tried and succeeded in summiting the world's highest mountain. Carina's historic and remarkable project is called Tango Expedition 2010.

As a part of the Mt. Everest training program, Carina also succeeded in reaching the top of Aconcagua, the highest peak on the continent of America.
